Cloning a creator into a chatbot.
Erika Owls is a celebrity tarot reader and we worked together to use AI to create on-demand readings for her clients.
I met Erika in Bali at the gym. She had a real tarot reading business, loyal clients including celebrities, and a service people paid hundreds of dollars an hour for. The business worked, but the operating model capped her time.
Tapp was a chatbot that cloned her voice, tone, and expertise in tarot so outside of hourly readings, clients could still talk to Erika.
The product could not just be tarot plus AI. The value was in her interpretation, philosophy, and voice. I built prompts around all 78 cards, encoding her meanings, philosophy, and voice from her own documents and call recordings, so the product reasoned like her rather than like a generic AI reading.
The product became a way to test how creator expertise can be packaged into a live subscription experience.
Launch night
Tapp gained eight paying subscribers in its first week, with more people returning to the product for daily readings.
